THE UPPER ROOM MINISTRIES
Mission
The Upper Room Ministries exists to bring God’s people back to the origins of the Church: a life of complete surrender and deep intimacy with God, in which prayer and fasting are not activities, but a way of life. As Jesus says in Matthew 6:6: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
From this place of intimacy with God, His power can be made visible through the lives of His children, as 1 Corinthians 4:20 says: “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of words but of power.”
Vision
We envision a people living in intimacy with God, walking in complete surrender, and embracing prayer and fasting as a way of life. A people who do not merely speak about God, but make His presence and power visible in their daily lives.
We long to see a movement in which prayer and fasting once again become a foundation of the Church; where people are equipped, brought together and encouraged to live from the secret place, and then walk in the power of the Kingdom of God.
We envision, following the example of Acts 2:1–4, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit beginning in one place, reaching a city and spreading further until it reaches an entire nation. We see the Body of Christ coming together in prayer and fasting, rekindling the fire of God and rising from that place to bring transformation to lives, churches, cities and generations.
